Cal­ci­um nitrate is the only water sol­u­ble form of cal­ci­um and for this rea­son is used in nutri­ent sprays and fer­til­iz­er recipes.

This hydro­pon­ic plant nutri­ent is also a source of nitro­gen. There­fore, it is com­mon­ly used in liq­uid fer­til­iz­er recipes as it gives both of these impor­tant nutri­ents to healthy, grow­ing plants
